Web Design Principles

As mentioned on the Services page, it is very important to put yourself out into the market and find a way to set yourself apart from your competitors. A few basic design principles that web producers live by set a standard for how web sites should be presented and developed.

Cross Browser Integration

First off, when developing a web site, it is vital that the web site load seamlessly and allows any visitor to access information. Often times, web sites are developed for a single web browser, which may cause the site to load incorrectly on another browser.

Dynamic Scripting Languages

Secondly, it important to develop a web site using more than just HTML. We usually integrate CSS stylesheets, Javascript language and PHP scripts to give the site dynamic functionality. This makes it much easier to update and manage the site over time, because the web developer can update one file and it updates the entire web site.

Site Layout & Presentation

Lastly, the design itself and how the web site is presented are of the utmost importance. When brainstorming ideas on how the site should look, we usually lay everything out in Adobe Photoshop before writing any HTML language. This way, our client understands exactly how it will look before any real work is done.

Following these design principles insures that a web site has a good foundation and adheres to all web standards. Once the principles are met, it’s a good time to begin considering a domain name (if one has not already been chosen) and decide whether to develop a custom design or chose from a variety of templates available at various web vendors.
